Operations Assistant position available at Tucan Travel

Award winning tour operator Tucan Travel is currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant in our office in Acton, London. This is an administrative role which involves making hotel bookings for all of our worldwide destinations, confirming gorilla permits and organising Russian invitation and accompanying letters. This position will report directly to the General Operations Manager.

We require the applicant to have good written and verbal English skills, high attention to detail and clear and precise communications skills as you will be working with suppliers whose first language may not be English. The suitable applicant should have previous experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
This person should have a friendly manner and be able to work successfully as part of a small team. You must also hold a valid EU passport or working permit to be employed in the UK.

- Make block bookings for all departures at all hotels in our worldwide
destinations (Europe, Russia, Trans Mongolian Railway, Morocco, Middle East & Africa)
- Make block bookings with our Egypt & Japan suppliers
- Confirm block bookings prior to cut off date for all departures
- Update availability and rooming lists
- Book pre and post tour accommodation and transfers in our worldwide
destinations
- Confirm all gorilla trekking permits
- Organise Russia invitation letters & accompanying letters
- Liaise with Destination Manager and send out annual contracts
- Load all post tour questionnaires

Risk Assessment

- Liaise with Destination Manager to maintain risk assessment documentation
- File all documentation
